This one's Milford Sound (Piopiotahi, in Te Reo Māori).

New Zealand's most iconic fiord, tucked into Fiordland National Park on the edge of the South Island's west coast. (It's called a "sound," but it's technically a fiord. It is carved by glaciers, not a river - one of those small facts that makes this place even more special.)

Drawn from directly above, this piece traces the fiord from the Tasman Sea inland to where Mitre Peak rises straight out of the water. I've hand-drawn in the little details that make Milford what it is: the airport where the flightseeing tours land, the ferry terminal where every cruise into the sound begins, and the road winding down through the valley to get there.

It's for anyone who's stood at that terminal waiting for their boat, flown in low over the peaks, or dreamed of doing either one day.
