The Routeburn Track is one of New Zealand's Great Walks — a 32 km journey through Mount Aspiring National Park and Fiordland National Park, consistently rated among the finest multi-day walks in the world. The track crosses the Main Divide at Harris Saddle (1,255m) with views into the Hollyford Valley and the Darran Mountains, passes Routeburn Falls, Harris Lake, and Lake Mackenzie, and traverses some of the most dramatic mountain scenery in the Southern Hemisphere. DOC's huts on the Routeburn — Routeburn Flats, Routeburn Falls, Lake Mackenzie, and Lake Howden — are among the finest in the New Zealand hut system. The Routeburn can be walked from Glenorchy or from The Divide near Milford Sound — both ends spectacular. Hand-drawn topographic art capturing the full Routeburn Track route and landscape.
